She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, FL. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Austin Eugene Willis in 1991 in Venice; brother, Douglas Carl Thurston of Venice, in 2004 and a sister, Beverly E (Anthony) Nunnari of Dayton, OH in 2007.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Jerry Dwain and Daniel Eugene Willis of Venice; three grandchildren, Steven Willis of Savannah, GA, Andrew Willis of Southampton, NY, and Jennifer Willis of Marquette, MI. great grandson, Dylan Austin Willis of GA Also surviving are a sister, Barbara Elaine (Edwin) Petty of Avondale, AZ; four nieces, three nephews and several grandnieces.
Shirley was a beautiful woman, immaculate housekeeper, excellent cook, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 9, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home and Cremation Services Venice Chapel, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail.
