
Toni Lydia Kuntz, 89, of Punta Gorda, Florida died January 11, 2014. She was born March 1, 1924 to Adolph and Lydia Ferus in Germany and immigrated to Benton Harbor, Michigan when she was a small child. On August 1, 1945 she married Rudy Kuntz who preceded her in death in 1996. They lived in Benton Harbor area until they moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1995. Toni worked for many years at the Berrien Hills Country Club, where she made lifelong friends. She loved to travel and spent many winters in California near her daughter. Locally, she was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. Toni became ill in Dowagiac, Michigan while visiting her son and daughter-in-law, and passed away in Michigan after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by three children and their spouses; her son Larry (Janel) Kuntz of Cassopolis, Michigan; her daughters, Karol (Michael Cushman) Allard, of Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica, and Susan (Craig Guggolz) Leslie of Palm Springs, California. She is also survived by her sister, Adela Schlipp of Port Charlotte, Florida; granddaughter, Kristine Kuntz (Michael) Brynda of Dallas, Texas; two great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Lucille Kunst of Sodus, Michigan and Caroline Ferus of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
