William Robert Keller, who resided at Gulf View Resort - Burnt Store Rd, Punta Gorda, Fl, died Feb 24, 2012 with his son Eben and sister Vicki at his side.
Bill was an avid musician, playing his guitar in many venues over his lifetime. He loved the ocean and enjoyed years of boating from early childhood and in recent years lived on his boat in Florida. Bill had a special connection with nature, and took to rescuing the needy including fish, turtles and birds. He could accomplish any task, build or fix anything and do so with perfection. His favorite recent interest was sharing his western persona with his gun club buddies. Bill was a quiet man with deep respect for all life.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Honey Keller of Lord's Point, Stonington, Ct. He is survived by his loving sons, Eben Keller residing in Tampa Florida, Robert Keller of Manchester Connecticut and Ellis Keller of New York City; two grandchildren, Jack and Justin, sons of Robert; his devoted sister, Victoria Cornish of Plainville, Ct. and his beloved companion, Mr. Peeps.
Bill's Punta Gorda friends gathered in Gilchrist Park on Sunday to celebrate his life. A marker is placed at the Ponce de Leon fountain in his remembrance. As he requested, Bill's ashes will be spread on the ocean near Block Island, Rhode Island at a later date.
