Music was Win’s favorite hobby. He loved Big Band, Country, and Gospel music the most. He was very proud of the fact that he taught himself how to play the Organ and could play many other instruments including the accordion, piano, and guitar. He took great pride and was honored to play the weekday morning masses at St. Max. Service to his congregation was always at the top of his priorities. One of Win's most cherished memories was having the opportunity to play the 4500 pipes of the organ at the Rockville Center Cathedral in Long Island, New York.
Many will remember that Win loved both sports and competition. He was an ardent supporter of his German soccer team Eintracht, and his beloved New York Mets. He was a fierce opponent of the New York Yankees and wanted everyone to remember that. Win also loved following Tennis, and enjoyed both the Summer and Winter Olympics.
Though Win's beloved wife, Julitta Hoeffken, preceded him in death, their love story remains a testament to enduring partnership and mutual affection. Win's legacy is a tapestry of melody, sportsmanship, and kindness that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.
As we bid farewell to Winfried Hoeffken, we celebrate a life well lived, filled with harmony, enthusiasm, and joy. His memory will be cherished, and his life's melody will resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind for years to come.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday Jan. 13th at 10am at St. Maximillian Kolbe, 1441 Spear St, Port Charlotte, FL 33948
