It is with love and wonderful memories that we announce the death of Albert Raymond Edwards. Born in Montreal, QC on May 10, 1934, Father Ray passed away peacefully at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, BC on April 22, 2015. Predeceased by his loving wife Beryl and his parents George and Evelyn, Father Ray is survived by his son Gregory, daughter-in-law Naoko, and two cherished granddaughters Mina and Kaya. Father Ray was a passionate and caring parish priest who touched the hearts of many people throughout his life. His Christian ministry spanned from the Anglican Diocese of Montreal, to the Episcopal Diocese of New York, and finally to St. Catherine's Church in Port Coquitlam, BC where he faithfully served his congregation for more than 20 years. Our deepest appreciation to all of Father Ray's friends, and to the wonderful staff at Hawthorne Care Centre and ERH who showed so much kindness and compassion. At Father Ray's request, a funeral will not take place. An informal tea reception to celebrate his life will be held at Burkeview Chapel (1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam) on Friday May 8 from 1:30 - 4:30pm. Donations to the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
