September 27, 1941 – January 10, 2025.
Dan was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Donald and Hetty Dove (nee Porter). He never lost his love of the prairie farmlands.
Dan was known by many names. He was son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
He was also Danny to many of his family who new the younger model, Debonair Dan the Dancing Man from his ballroom days, High Socks or White Socks to our Florida neighbours (yes, sandals!) and finally Grumpa and Baba to his grandchildren.
Dan led an active life pursuing many interests – acting, ballroom dancing, sailing, RVing, and videography. Focusing exclusively on each hobby until the next one came along. Some questioned his sense of humour and others got it – everyone remembered it!
Dan’s passing was sudden and over quickly. He enjoyed his life to the final moment.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
