It is with immense sadness that the family of Doreen Camley announces her passing. Doreen passed away peacefully in her sleep in her cherished home on February 26, 2016. Doreen will be greatly missed by her two daughters Debra (Marcus), Barb (Scott), and her step son and daughter Joel and Morgan (Sonya) and her grandchildren Lauren, Amonda, Grace, Sam and JJ. Doreen also will be sadly missed by her many friends and extended family. Doreen was born in the Kootenay town of Sheep Creek, B.C. and she grew up and graduated in Nelson, BC. After graduation, Doreen spent her early twenties in Kamloops before she moved to Vancouver where she met her wonderful husbands, both Vancouver Firefighters. First husband Lawrence Kraft with whom she had her daughters and then many years after Larry’s death she met and married her second husband Tony (Transfer) Camley with whom she enjoyed several wonderful years exploring both the back country of B.C. and the world. For many years Doreen enjoyed working as a school secretary for School District #43 where she made many friends and eventually retired. Doreen was an avid figure-skating enthusiast and card player, which brought her much joy and good times spent with her close friends. She loved her girlfriend trips and she loved to spend time with her family; especially her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, you may consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. In honour of Doreen, we will hold a Memorial Tea on March 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First Memorial Burkeview Chapel in Port Coquitlam, www.firstmemorialportcoquitlam.com. Mom you lived a beautiful life in which you loved many and many loved you. May you rest in peace.
