In 1957, he joined the Campbell Soup Company, launching a 5-decade career in grocery sales. His career enabled him to travel the country with his family and provided the opportunity to live in a number of cities. While he enjoyed great success in business, Ron’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends who often speak of the inspiration he provided.
The family settled back in Coquitlam in the late 70’s. When Ron finally retired at age 67 he enjoyed spending his retirement contributing to the community, spending time with friends and family around the kitchen table, and acting as a shining example of a loving husband, father, and Grandfather. Ron enjoyed Golf and Curling and made many great friends while pursuing his interests.
Ron passed away peacefully at the Crossroads Hospice surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley, son Glen (Gail and daughter Erin), daughters Lana and Dale, grandchildren Tyler, Brandon, Jessica, and Tanner along with many loving nieces and nephews.
The Family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital, Crossroads Hospice and especially to Dr. Mike Carkner, Ron’s long time family physician.
