Irene started her life journey November 26 1947 in Maillardville where she grew up in a loving family.
Later getting married and having two sons that she loved and adored very much.
She started working as a hair dresser while raising her two boys.
Being the strong woman she was after her marriage ended, she was faced with raising her sons all on her own. She went back to get a better education and job as an occupational therapist to provide for her sons.
She worked hard to make sure that her sons had opportunities to play sports and other activities, even asking family members to take her sons fishing and camping.
Finally she was able to do things for herself; buy a home, relax with her dog, and do what she always loved doing - gardening, crafting, crocheting, and also meeting someone she loved and enjoyed.
Facing the loss of her youngest son was devastating.
Finally retiring to Kelowna for a few years she unfortunately suffered from two strokes and recovered, shortly after her recovery she then lost her husband and spent the last four years in a care home.
Irene was a fighter until the very end.
Her sons are honoured to have her as their Mom.
