

Jim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba June 20, 1934, Four years later Jim, along with his younger brother, Wayne and their parents Opal and Ross moved to a 180 acre farm in Clandeboye, 30 miles north of Winnipeg, where they lived in a small one room house. Jim loved to share stories about his time at the farm, he was very proud of the hard life they had and how they grew strong from it.
Jim met his wife, Noreen, while going to University in New Brunswick, they later married and had their son, James Arthur Ross. Jim’s adventures and achievements were plentiful and took him all over the world, but the one he was most proud of was his Company International Submarine Engineering Ltd (ISE), that he started in 1974, ISE continues to operate and grow, it is truly the legacy Jim wanted to leave behind.
Jim is survived by his son James Arthur Ross McFarlane, granddaughter Maridee Opal McFarlane, brother Wayne and his wife Jean McFarlane and his ISE family.
Jim is predeceased by his wife Anne “Noreen” McFarlane, mother Frances “Opal” McFarlane and his father John Ross McFarlane.
Arrangements have been entrusted to First Memorial Burkeview Chapel in Port Coquitlam, BC. Jim’s ashes along with his wife Noreen’s will rest in peace in the Fernwood Cemetery in New Brunswick. Please gather amongst yourselves to celebrate this wonderful man and the great achievements he made. Pictures and stories can be posted on the First Memorial website.
