PENNINGTON, James William Charles
November 21 1935 - March 10 2023
On Friday March 10th, with his family by his side for eight days in Palliative Care, Jim lost a short but very courageous battle with Cancer.
Jim is predeceased by his wife Grace Pennington of 66 years and is survived by his brother John (Patricia) his daughter Kristina (Christopher) and son Michael (Shelly) and Grandchildren Trevor, Tianna, Jeremy, Lucas, Blake and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Vancouver to James and Vera Pennington. Jim grew up in Vancouver and lived most of his adult life in Port Coquitlam where he worked at BC Tel for 17 years. Eventually, he and Grace took a leap of faith and bought a Poultry farm in Port Coquitlam where they farmed for more than 40 years.
Throughout the years Jim would own a few different classic cars and would annually enter them into the Poco Car Show. Jim and Grace loved boating and were members of the False Creek Yacht Club. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed a membership at Carnoustie Golf Course. He enjoyed his annual trips to Palm Desert where he continued to golf and spend time with friends.
Our Dad and Grandpa always had a sparkle in his eye, a smile on his face and had a huge heart, he was always happy to see you and genuinely wanted to talk to you, hence the many many friends that he had. He was very proud of his family and all that knew him will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Sunday April 16th at 1pm at Meadow Gardens golf course in Pitt meadows.
In leu of flowers donations can be sent to the BC Cancer Society.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialportcoquitlam.com for the Pennington family.
