John Robert Dott

October 5, 1958- November 11, 2021

Our John was taken from us way too soon, after 13 months of fighting so hard to survive cancer. John was a husband of almost 30 years to Julie Dott, a father to Blake and Mitchell Dott, a son to Thomas and Mary Dott- both deceased, a brother to James Dott and Brian Dott- deceased, a brother-in-law to Janice Dott, Edward and Helen Beckley, a son-in-law to Joy Beckley, an uncle to Clayton Dott, Bart and Spencer Beckley, and a cherished friend to so many others.

John was born in Scotland. At 9yo his family immigrated to Canada. He went through the Catholic school system in Vancouver. After living in Burnaby for years, he settled in Coquitlam. He lived in Coquitlam for 23 years.

In Johns 63 years, he travelled to many countries. He especially loved his boat cruises! He loved his family and being in his home. He loved his best friends Gord and Paul. He loved going to work at ICBC, and the camaraderie he had with his fellow workers. He loved the years he coached baseball, and going to see his sons sport games. He loved his golf, red wine, cigars, his teams (Sea Hawks and Canucks), and he loved life in general.

Everyone loved John for his sunny positive demeanor, and his kindness, easiness and honesty. He was truly one of the good ones. Raise your glass to a life beautifully lived, and a heart deeply loved! Our lives will never be the same without you.
