It is with great sadness that we announce that our loving mom, Monique Stewart, nee Boileau, passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2022, shortly after her 90th birthday. She outlived her husband and best friend, Neil, by 4 years. They were married 65 years and lived in many communities in Quebec and Ontario, raising their five children. When asked about her career, she would say she was "a home executive." When dad retired, they sold their home and traveled for 5 years all over North America in their beloved home on wheels, The Happy Wanderer.
Being on her own in Ottawa, she was surrounded by loving friends, in particular her guardian angel, Debbie. Our family cannot thank her enough for the kindness and care she gave mom. Last year, mom finally made the move to BC to be close to family. She leaves behind her children Paul (Johanne), Nancy (Rick), Marc (Mary-Anne), Jim (Carolyn) and Pat (Andy), as well as 13 grandchildren, their partners, and her sister Suzanne. She was kind, loving and generous with her time, volunteering with many organizations, charities and churches over the years. Her family and her faith were the foundation of her life. She will be sorely missed.
A very special thank you to all the caring and compassionate staff and volunteers at the Astoria, Royal Columbian Hospital and Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody for the attention and care they gave mom in her final days.
For those who wish, a donation in mom's memory may be made to Crossroads Hospice Society at crossroadshospice.org
