Richard Glen McFarlane

Rich passed away at the age of 68. He had been a resident of Port Moody for 40 years before his recent move to Coquitlam.

Born and raised in Burnaby on Elsom Avenue, he enjoyed living directly across the street from his much loved maternal Grandparents. He attributed his excellent early math skills to playing crib and other card games with them on a regular basis.

He leaves his wife Rose, son David, daughter Jennifer Erasmus (Ivan and child Emory) and daughter Kimberly Heckels (Alex). Rich will also be missed by his brother Dave, sisters Pat and Joy and their families.

Rich enjoyed playing and watching sports. Beginning at a young age he played soccer, baseball, lacrosse, golf, and bowling. There were very few sports he did not enjoy watching on his increasingly bigger TV screens!

As a Dad, he took great pleasure coaching his children's t-ball and soccer teams in Port Moody.

He was a dedicated employee of Richardson Seed/Terralink Horticulture for over 42 years. He started as a young warehouse worker and retired as a seasoned manager.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Burkeview Memorial Services in Port Coquitlam on October 25, 2025 at 1:00pm with a reception to follow
