

Abel Paquet, born June 12, 1934 died unexpectedly on February 22, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Odilon and Marie-Anne Paquet; brothers, Guy Paquet and Patrice Paquet. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Celine Paquet, Port Crane; his children, Kaleen and Tracy Sprague, Lawrenceville GA; Carl and Judi Paquet, Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Talethea and Andy Love, Collette Sprague and Cathryn Paquet; great grandchild, Caden Love; brothers and sisters-in-law, Celine and Camille Gilbert; Flavien and Claudette Paquet; Julianne and Wilbrod Gilbert; Laurier and Micheline Paquet; Yves and Gaetane Paquet; Lisette and Paulain Tanguay; Ghislain Paquet; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Monique Paquet; Judy Paquet; Nicole Brochu; Andre Desjardins and Robert Trepanier; Charlotte and Jacques Drovin; Serge and Marie-Paule Brochu; Paulain Brochu and Danielle Rodrique; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Mike Kapogianatos and Dewey and Cindy Hollenbeck. Abel spent 40 years working in the tree business with Asplundh, Tree Preservation and Dumac. A majority of those years were spent as a general foreman. He was a member of the IBEW Local 1249 and started his own business York-Penn Lumber. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Sanitaria Springs, NY for 40 years. Abel loved three things, good conversations, horse racing and especially his family. Phone calls and visits with family brought him great joy.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the James V. DeMarco & Son funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 659 NY Rt 78 in Sanitaria Springs. Entombment will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
