Benjamin O. Richards

Benjamin O. "Ben" Richards, died unexpectedly on July 2, 2025, at the age of 26. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Pamela Schneider and Stanley Zareski; paternal Grampy, Charles Culver; and cousins, Dillon Henehan, Isabella Scotto d'Antuono, and Julian Weiss.

Ben is survived by his loving parents, Heather Zareski and Nate Richards; his sister, Memphis Doolittle; his Nana, Debra Culver; his Bumpa, Kevin Richards; his aunts and uncles, Aaron Richards, Heather (Tom) Weiss, Megan Richards, Tamara Culver (Joe Hansen), Arlette (Ed) Tepe, and Jeremy (Nicole) Zareski; and many cousins and friends.

Ben had a keen interest in history and his family ancestry. Traditions and family were of utmost importance to him. He enjoyed researching and learning about new things, always ready for a debate with his sharp intellect. In his leisure time, Ben found joy in video gaming with others and working out. He also cherished his beloved cats, Apollo and Sebastian, who were rescued by him and nursed back to health. Ben will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, located at 737 Chenango St, Port Dickinson, NY, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The family would encourage those who attend to dress casually, as that is what Ben would have liked. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Ben with a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
