

Beverly J. Bedford, 80, formerly of Johnson City, went to be with her Lord on September 4, 2013. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Richard B. Bedford; her parents, Irwin and Marguerite Hunt; sister, Shirley Hunt and brother William Hunt. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Debbie Bedford and Richard and Deidre Bedford; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Bedford) Kokinda and her husband John, Matthew Bedford, Lauren Bedford and Callie Bedford; her great-grandson, John Kokinda; her brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Maureen Hunt; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Marjorie Bedford; sister-in-law, Doris Lewis and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Additionally she leaves behind long time coworkers and friends and several childhood friends from the Benjamin Franklin schooldays. Beverly was a loving and doting mother and grandmother and will be missed terribly. Beverly retired from the guidance office at the Johnson City School District and enjoyed her retirement with Richard at a second home near the beach in Bradenton, FL and traveling around the country and the world. They traveled around the USA and far off places like Hawaii, Germany and France during their retirement. Beverly was also a proud member of the Montrose PA chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was grateful to her cousin, Jonathan Hunt for providing the documentation for and championing her application. Beverly was an avid Cowboys, Yankees, Jeff Gordon and country music fan. The family wants to thank the staff and owners of Gracious Living Estates in Montrose, PA and the staff of Heartland Hospice Care for their devoted and caring attention to Mom's every need. Thank you for being family instead of care-givers. Services will be at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral service will follow at 11 am. Beverly was a cancer survivor so in lieu of flowers the family requests you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society , 11 Beech St., Johnson City NY 13790.
