Charles B. Whetsell Sr.

Charles B. Whetsell Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth; siblings, Robert, Margaret, Katherine, Thelma, Frances, Susan, Dorothy and Bessie; children, Robert Daniel, Ronald Floyd and grandson, Ronald Jason. He is survived by his children, Charles and Susan Whetsell Jr., Linda and Wayne Watrous, Maggie and Walter Plevyak, Brian and Jill Whetsell and Daniel and Kathy Whetsell; close friend, Ron Stilson; special cousin, Norma Rosenberg; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friend and caretaker, Shari Smith; special friend, Tim Brown; caretaker, Dave Foster, special dog, Buddy. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed landscaping and time spent with his family. He retired from the Binghamton Psych Center where he worked from 1949-1983. He was a longtime Indiana Colts fan and enjoyed his bus trips. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 4-6 pm and on January 13, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of service at the Wm R Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the funeral home at 11:00.
