He was the husband of Amy J. Saeger for 46 years. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy, and father, Herb Saeger.
Craig was a longtime member of the faculty in the theater departments at both Binghamton University and SUNY Broome. He was also deeply involved in regional theater and opera, serving in many roles with the Tri Cities Opera and most notably the Cider Mill Playhouse over several decades.
Over the course of his life Craig was passionate about theater, skiing, water sports, youth sports, and his local community. Most recently he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and traveling to visit his sons.
Craig was known for his love of Christmas, golf (despite never besting his youngest son), strawberry rhubarb pies, and four-legged friends. He will be remembered for knowing how to do everything *his* way and an ability to MacGyver anything; his never-ending supply of Chenango Valley baseball hats; and always having a pencil and tape measurer handy. He will be deeply missed for his quick wit, playful spirit, and love of family.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; his brother Chris; his three sons and daughters-in-law Ernest (Hailee), Eric (Kate), and Erin (Emma); and grandchildren Dorothy and Winifred.
The family held a private celebration of life.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Craig may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
