Darlene Vivian Japhet, born on February 20, 1941, in New Berlin, NY, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 84. Darlene was a retired employee of IBM, having lived in North Carolina for ten years before settling in Marshfield, MO.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Japhet, her mother, Edna Ruland, her son Eddie Japhet, her sons Lee and Gary, and her grandson Brandon Japhet.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Kleinsmith (Gregory), Deborah Grier (James), Melanie Harrington (Christopher); her sons, James Japhet (Renee) and Winston Japhet (Dallas); her grandchildren, Christina, Shannon, David, Kate, Gregory, Alicia, Josh, Brooke, Amber, Courtney, Stephanie, Breanna, and Ashley; and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Lewis Ruland, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Darlene loved spending time with her family and had a passion for knitting and crocheting, often gifting her creations to family and friends. She also enjoyed playing the Mahjong card game. Known for her caring nature, Darlene was always doing for others.
The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm. A graveside service will be held in the Port Crane Cemetery in the spring.
