Darrell (Chief) Murray, 88, of Johnson City passed away at home on August 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 32 years (together for 38 years), Laurie Holdridge; Son Michael (Wife Jill Seeley); Daughter Jennifer Myers; Grandchildren: Shannon (Husband Nick) Tessemer, Daniel, Paige, Jack, Wilson; Great Grandchildren: Corbin, Jason, Julian; and Brother Jim (Ridgecrest, CA). “Chief” Murray was extremely proud of his 22 years of service in the Navy, flying fixed wing aircraft and then helicopters, serving in Korea and Vietnam. After the military, “Darrell” Murray had a successful career working for IBM/Loral/Lockheed Martin – spending his last 8 ½ working years on the Merlin Helicopter program in England. Darrell and Laurie toured much of England and Europe while on that assignment and enjoyed many years vacationing on the beach in Mexico with family and friends. He had a passion for collecting and reading, and enjoyed sharing life with family and friends. Per Darrell’s wishes, there will be no services. Please celebrate his life and make a donation to a favorite charity if so desired.
