

Gigino J. Ferranti, 86, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully at Binghamton General Hospital on Friday December 21, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Vittorio and Elizabeth, and his older brother Americo. Gino is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elsa: children Eugene and Lisa, Valerio and Donna, and Daniel and Anne Marie. He leaves behind 6 treasured grandchildren: Jenna, John, Michael, Anthony, Nicholas and Vittorio. He is also survived by his younger brother Lorenzo.
Gino was a machine operator at C&C Ready Mix and then worked several years at Binghamton University. Upon his retirement he worked at the Broome County Arena. He enjoyed time spent with family and could also be found following the stock market or watching football and basketball. Gino was also a member of the Men’s Abbruzzese Social Club. He was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 9:15 am at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY and continue at 10 am in Sts. John and Andrew Church, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton where a funeral mass will be offered. Entombment will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Binghamton General Hospital for their exceptional and extraordinary care of Gino.
