

Harold (Ben) Hogan, 83, of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully in his home on Monday morning, March 11, 2013. He is predeceased by his brother, Paul Hogan, sister, Agnes Gabriel, brother-in-law, Armand Gabriel, brother-in-law, Frances Buckley, and sister-in-law, Judy Hayes. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria (Mary Paoletti) Hogan, daughters and sons-in law Mary Ann and Andrew Young, Caroline and Frances Vizvary, Catherine and James Baker, Honeoye Falls, NY; his grandchildren Lauren and Michael Young, Maija Vizvary, James, Troy,and Caterina Baker; sister, Marie Buckley, brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Rosemarie Hogan, brother-in-law Joseph Paoletti, sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, Dianne and William Stevens, Robert and Jodi Paoletti, Oxford, NY, and brother-in-law John Hayes, many nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Harry Maurer and Bill Webb. Ben lived his entire life on the homestead on Hogan Road. He could be seen every day working the land or building/maintaining the structures. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipe-fitters Local 112 for 55 years. During that time, he presided as treasurer for a 6 year term. He was an avid member of the Democratic Society. He was a life-long member of Sts. John and Andrews Parish. He enjoyed many years of bowling.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at Sts. John and Andrews Church, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, NY. Burial will follow in Ingraham Hill Cemetery, Town of Binghamton. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 4-7 PM at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY.
