Jeanne Ross, 91, of Windsor was received into heaven after falling asleep in the arms of her heavenly Father. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years Arthur, her son Edward, and her son-in-law Pete. She is survived by daughters, Patricia, Penny Kozak, Alabama, Michelle (Michael) Williams, Windsor, Shari (Rob) Cole, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. She retired from Links after 25 years and then worked at the United Methodist Hilltop Day Care. She was a longtime member of the Grange and held many positions. She loved to travel and enjoyed her many trips with her Senior Center friends and church groups. All who knew Jeanne loved the sparkle in her eye, her soft laugh and caring loving energy. She was never far from her crocheting needles, a quilting project, or paints for her next art project. For years she was known at the local fairs for Smiley’s Funnel Cakes – customers waited patiently in long lines for one of her famous funnel cakes and in doing so helped support different organizations in the community that she loved. Her favorite quiet place was her camper on the lake where she enjoyed nature and watched beautiful sunsets on the water. She was a Sunday School teacher for 20 years and practiced what she preached to her youngsters. She enjoyed singing in the choir and her beautiful voice could be counted on when calling and getting the answering machine. Thank you to the dedicated staff at Elizabeth Church Manor for the tender care that you provided; you were family to all of us. In lieu of flowers, please do frequent acts of kindness and pay it forward when given the opportunity then let her know you are thinking of her – she enjoyed making others smile so share those with others too.
The Family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 11-12pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 12pm. Burial will be in the South Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, NY
