John W. Walker

John W. Walker, 84, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was predeceased by his sisters Lucille Fry and Ruth Bolton; and his brother Rob Walker. John is survived by his son & daughter-in-law Eric & Toni Walker and his daughter & son-in-law Alycia & Mike Dalton; his grandchildren Joshua, Olivia, Cole, Taylor & Ashlyn; sister Joyce Walker and brother Gerald Walker.

John was a graduate of Binghamton North High School. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and member of the American Legion Post 0758. John was staple at the Grand Union, managing various stores for 45 years. He was passionate about his NY Giants and NY Yankees, reading his daily newspaper, crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. Above all raising his children and watching his family blossom with grandchildren filled his heart and purpose. John never missed his son play youth and high school football, his daughter’s softball games or any of his grandchildren’s sports and activities. Having his family together for holidays and celebrations were the highlight of his life.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY on Monday February 28, 2022 from 12-1pm. Funeral Services will follow at 1pm. The burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
