

Lino Piccirilli, 78 passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Angeladominica Piccirilli; brother, Florido Piccirilli; in-laws, Theodore and Maria Boos; brother-in-law, Werner Boos, all in Germany. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Melitta Piccirilli, Conklin; 4 daughters, Angelina and Lester Seidel, Windsor, NY; Nicoletta Basa and fiancé Dan Carr, Endwell; Rosetta Smith, Binghamton; Cristina and James DiFulvio, Binghamton; 9 Grandchildren, Stefanie and Frank Perez, Carmel, NY; Danielle Seidel and fiancé Shahram Mangouri, Boston; Marina Seidel, Windsor; Melitta Basa, Allentown, PA; Lino Basa and Alicia Hartwell, Endwell, NY; Santino, Vincenz, Armando and Giada DiFulvio, Binghamton; 2 great grandchildren, Franky and Gracie Perez, Carmel, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Leonardo (Joe) and Lorena Piccirilli, Binghamton; sister-in-law, Dina Piccirilli, Binghamton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edgar Boos, Theo and Lucia Boos and Inga and Jurgen Schweizer, all of Germany; many nieces and nephews; special nephews, Antonio and Nick; special friends, Dan Fitzgerald and Phil Staub. In 1954, Lino went to Switzerland, then in1956, he went to Germany and married Melitta in 1959. In April of 1960, he came to the United States for a better life. He worked as a construction worker for Dellapenna Construction Co. and Masciarelli Construction. He also worked as a cook at the Little Venice Restaurant. In 1968, he and his brother started Piccirilli Bros Construction Co. and worked together for over 40 years. He loved to smoke his cigar, operate the heavy equipment on the job and work in his most wonderful garden. He was a member of the Men’s Abruzzee Social Club. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2012 at 8:45 AM at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY and continue at 9:30 AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 3 – 7 PM. The men of the Abruzzee Club will meet at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A special thank you to Lourdes Hospice, especially Dixie and Amy and Sister Fredrika Dunn for their loving care.
