Lorraine A. Barrett went to be with the lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 76. surrounded by her family and friends and the sun shining down on her. A resident of Conklin, New York, Lorraine was known for her warm heart and dedication to her family.
Lorraine spent many years working as a waitress at several area Diners, where she cherished spending time with colleagues and customers. Her love for her family was evident in the time she devoted to them, always ensuring they were surrounded by love and support.
Lorraine had a passion for cooking and baking, with Kolache's being a family favorite. She enjoyed spending time with her husband & family gaming at local casinos. One of her favorite memories was when she won a demolition derby where she competed with many men, including her husband, a testament to her adventurous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Barrett, Sr.; her parents, Leroy and Agnes Martin; her sister, Marion Rose; her sister, Peggy Cron; father & mother in-law, Raymond & Florance Barrett; and her daughter-in-law, Julie Barrett.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, James Hyatt; her sons, Robert (Shelley) Barrett, Jr. and Brett Barrett; her daughter, Jolene (Brett Gore) Kosick; sister Connie Smithgall and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorraine's legacy is one of care and compassion, having taken care of not only her own family but everyone around her.
The family will receive friends at Northbridge Church 1017, Conklin Road, Conklin, NY on Friday August 15, 2025 from 10:30am-12:30pm with a Graveside Service to follow at 1pm in the Shawsville Cemetery.
