It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy J. Camp on March 7, 2025 at the age of 75. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis J. Camp, just eleven days earlier, a true testament to the incredible bond they shared for nearly 54 years.
Nancy is survived by her two devoted children and their spouses, Carleene and Steven Glezen and Dennis Jr (DJ) Camp and Jamie Hogancamp and her cherished grandsons Wyatt and Colton Glezen and Jackson Camp. Also survived by her close knit family, sisters, brother and their spouses, Sally Hawk and Bud McKay, Susan and Robert Rash, Kenneth Jr. and Annie Hawk, and Kathy and Robert Hogan and her brothers-in-law Gary Camp and Gene Camp. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, dear cousins and lifetime friends. With deep gratitude to her niece, Aimee VanDenberghe, who advocated for Nancy and her family as they navigated her medical care.
Nancy was the oldest daughter of Kenneth and Jane Hawk who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her nephew Anthony Dubuar, Dennis’s oldest brother, Roger Camp, sisters-in-law, Shirley Camp and Kay Camp and Dennis’s parents Elizabeth (Ma) and Lewis Camp.
Nancy was a graduate of Chenango Forks High School where she met Dennis, and also Russell Sage College. “Mrs. Camp” went on to teach physical education at her alma mater for nearly 30 years, touching the lives of her students, her fellow teachers and administrators from elementary to high school. Following her retirement, she and Carly opened Carly’s Cottage on Front Street, a charming and successful gift shop.
Nancy was a lifelong teacher and mentor, even taking a role in her youngest grandson’s home schooling. She was the ultimate caregiver to her mother and then to Dennis. She was an amazing person and we cannot imagine our lives without her.
