Robert G. Conrow

Robert George Conrow, 77, of Binghamton, NY, went on to heaven unexpectedly on January 26th. He looked after his family in life and will now be their guardian angel in heaven. He was a kind, fun and thoughtful person who would always lend a hand. He loved hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He had a special fondness for cats, even rescuing strays from time to time. He tenderly cared for his beloved cat, Abbey, who will continue to be a joy for the family. Bob was a machinist for many years before retiring from Broome Community College. Bob was predeceased by his father and mother, Robert & Bertha Conrow, his sister, Grace Eames, his brother, George Conrow Jr, and his grandson, Stephen Temple, who he loved fishing with. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Joanne Conrow, his children Robert Jr and Melissa Conrow of Hillcrest, NY, Patricia and Ed Dyson, of Conklin, NY, Susan Temple, of Spooner, WI, Patricia and John Ciacelli of Endwell, NY and Jim and Karen Luce of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Chase, of Endwell, NY. Bob, “Poppy”, was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren who he loved to joke and play with. He is also survived by several wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including his special fishing buddy, Chris Temple. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember his funny antics and youthful spirit. The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 10-11am with a Memorial Service to follow.
