Anne M. Guldenstern

Anne M. (Matteo) Guldenstern, 57, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2020, surrounded by her much loved and dedicated family. Anne was born on June 11, 1962 to Florence (Santulli) and the late Richard Matteo. She graduated in 1980 from Bishop Maginn High School in Albany and married her childhood friend and sweetheart, Michael Guldenstern, on February 4, 1988.

Anne was employed by Feldman Lumber as a Credit Manager up until her illness no longer allowed her to continue working. Anne loved her job and was the best of the best at it. The employees at Feldman Lumber were not only her co-workers, but her friends.

Anne and Mike moved to Port Jeff Station in 2000, providing a beautiful and welcoming home for their family. Anne’s “boys” were most important and always her utmost priority.

Anne was the devoted and loving wife of Michael Guldenstern, the beloved and doting mother to Brian (Liz) Cellery, Joshua Cellery, and Eric (Suzie Lee) Guldenstern, and the proud and loving Meena to Liam and Logan Cellery. She was the adored and cherished sister, and part of the “Magnificent 7”, to Ginny (late Michael) McDonough, Michael (Dawn) Matteo, Cathy (Dan) Musella, Joseph (Mary Ellen) Matteo, Christine (William) Guldenstern, and Patty (Michael) Hoffman. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Patricia Soncini and her sisters-in-law Anna Sheets and Terry Menges. She was the much-loved aunt of 19 nieces and nephews, along with 15 great nieces and nephews. Anne also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the Matteo, Abbate, Santulli and Moreen families. She will also be missed by her dear friends Shari and Robin Otero, Lynn and Mike Goyer, and her dogs, Bella and Zoey.

Anne treasured butterflies and dragonflies and enjoyed reading, watching movies, shopping, and visiting casinos. But to Anne, family was everything. She had an unbreakable spirit and was a beautiful individual. Anne could be relied on for support, advice and guidance. She always put others first and would do anything for anyone. Simply put, Anne had a heart of gold and is leaving a huge void. She fought a long 13-month battle against cancer, never complaining and always worrying about others. Heaven just gained another angel.

Anne’s husband and sons would like to thank her family, numerous friends, and neighbors for their generous help and outpouring support throughout her illness.
