Anthony Carella

Anthony Carella, 80, of Stony Brook, NY, passed away on November 8, 2024. Born on November 6, 1944, in Astoria, NY, Tony lived a life defined by deep love, enduring friendships, and unwavering dedication.

Tony was the beloved husband of Maria, his cherished wife of 54 years. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, filled with shared laughter, adventures, and countless memories. As a loving father to Dana Carella and Jennifer Wood (Sean), and an adoring grandfather to Aiden and Logan Wood, Tony's greatest pride and joy was his family, whom he always held close to his heart.

He was a devoted brother to Roseanne Frank and Lorraine Disken (Timmy), sharing a bond with his sisters that lasted a lifetime. Tony's kindness, loyalty, and sense of humor earned him lasting friendships that he treasured deeply. He found camaraderie and support among his fellow veterans through the VFW, VVA, and Northport VA, communities where he was both proud and honored to serve.

An Army veteran, Tony carried his pride for his country and his service close throughout his life. His love of golf and skiing brought him joy and a sense of adventure, and he embraced life fully, finding happiness in both simple and grand moments.

Tony’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and generosity. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, especially his family, who were his greatest source of happiness and pride. His presence will be deeply missed but remembered forever with warmth, laughter, and endless love.

A visitation for Tony will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Funeral mass on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:15 AM at St. Philip & St. James R.C. Church, 1 Carow Place, St. James, NY 11780. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York 11933.
