Carl was the beloved husband of Allison, with whom he shared nearly 32 years of marriage and 35 years of companionship. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and a shared passion for travel. They especially cherished their cruises and visits to Bermuda and other tropical destinations, where Carl found great happiness by the ocean—something he had loved since his younger days as a surfer.
He was a devoted father to Rebecca Herrforth, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his children Renee, Carl, and Michelle, and was predeceased by his son, Michael Herrforth. Carl was a grandfather to six, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through them.

Throughout his life, Carl had a love for the outdoors and the feeling of freedom it brought. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Later, he found that same sense of joy cruising in his 1979 Volkswagen Beetle convertible, always appreciating the wind in his hair and the open road ahead.
