Carol Ann Callahan of Middle Island, NY, formerly of Nesconset, NY, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on January 3, 1940, in Queens, NY, Carol was a woman devoted to her family and the joys of everyday life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald W. Callahan, with whom she shared many cherished years. Carol was a loving and devoted mother to Donald W. Jr. (Karen), Michael (Ann), and Kelley Callahan. Her greatest pride was her role as grandmother to Kimberly Catapano (Dan), Brian Callahan (fiancée Caroline Massaro), Kevin Callahan (partner Katey DeWitt), Ashley Hayes (Travis), Brittany Callahan (Andrew Gross), Michael Callahan Jr. (Carolyn Fergus-Callahan), James Falley (fiancée Brooke Binger), Nicole Falley, Danielle Falley (fiancé Noah Rivas), and Christopher Falley. She was also a treasured great-grandmother to Natalie, Ethan, Isla, Kaia, Lily, Emma, Isabella, Noah, and Jax.
Carol was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her talent with a crochet hook, she lovingly crafted countless blankets over the years—each new baby in the family receiving one of her handmade creations. Carol also enjoyed her time at Jake’s 58 Casino, trying her luck at the slot machines, and never missed an opportunity to celebrate the holidays with family or enjoy lunch with friends. When relaxing at home, she could often be found watching her favorite shows, Gold Rush or The Curse of Oak Island.
A visitation for Carol will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM. A closing prayer will be offered by the funeral director on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 10 AM, followed by a committal service and interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
Carol’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
