Doris Caroline Delligatti

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Doris passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025 at the age of 65, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Doris was married to her devoted husband, Gerardo, for 39 years, sharing a life full of love and adventure. Together, they raised three wonderful children—Tina, Jerry, and Nicole—and they embraced their spouses, Joe, Breanne, and James, like their own. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Ava, Mia, and Ace.

Doris had a deep affection for her family, and her bond with her siblings, Ruth, Howie, and Jimmy, was one of love and loyalty. Doris was cherished for sharing her culinary talents at every family gathering and holiday, delighting loved ones with her signature dishes, including zucchini quiche, chicken cutlets, eggplant rollatini, and her famous rice pudding.

In her free time, Doris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was sipping on her favorite Dunkin' Donuts coffee, enjoying a day at the beach, or making memories on trips to Atlantic City, Doris knew how to embrace life. She also had a special place in her heart for her “grand dogs,” who brought her endless joy and companionship.

She was a spirited roulette player and always had a bit of fun with the little things that brought her happiness. Her laughter, warmth, and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her.

Doris faced her diagnosis of glioblastoma brain cancer in May 2024 with remarkable courage and strength, valiantly fighting for 17 and a half months.

Doris will forever be remembered for her kind heart, her love for her family, and the joy she spread wherever she went. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, on November 5, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A prayer service will take place at the same location on November 5, 2025 at 6 pm.

The committal service will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 3442 NY-112, Coram, NY 11727, on November 6, 2025 at 11 am.
