

Doris R. Hollingworth, passed peacefully on March 12, 2024. Doris was a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, adored sister and beloved friend to many. Her departure leaves a profound void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Doris had a passion for travel, with an affinity for cruising the seas. She found immense joy in exploring new destinations, immersing herself in different cultures, and creating unforgettable memories along the way. Among her cherished adventures, she often spoke fondly of her journey to Israel, a trip that left an indelible mark on her heart.
Aside from her love for travel, she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones, infusing every dish with warmth and love. Her kitchen was a place of creativity and comfort, where she shared her passion for cooking with family and friends.
Above all, Doris treasured her family and her feline companions. She adored her family with unwavering devotion, finding immense happiness in their company and in creating precious moments together. Her love extended to her beloved cats, particularly her cherished companion, Mr. Purry Pants, who held a special place in her heart. Known affectionately as the "world's fattest cat," Mr. Purry Pants was a source of endless joy in her life.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering love for her family and furry friends. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late William. Loving mother of Timothy, Kathryn Hollingworth and her partner Steven and John and his wife Dana. Cherished grandmother of Emily and Amanda. Doris is also survived by her two brothers, Ron and William Sancho.
A celebration of Doris’ life will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service Monday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Sea View Cemetery, 233 North Country Road, Mount Sinai, NY 11766.
