

Born on September 27, 1943, in Peru, Luis carried a deep love and pride for his homeland throughout his life. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosa Felicita (RIP), with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring bond, as well as a passion for travel and discovering new places together. Their love for one another was evident to everyone who knew them, and the memories they created side by side will always remain a cherished part of our family’s story.
Luis was a devoted and loving father to Elita Ramirez Ramos, Patricia Changanaqui, Carmen Ramirez Ramos, Luis Ramirez Idona, Elita Regan Idona, Joanna Ramirez Ramos, Oscar Ramirez Idona, Marcos Idona, Miluska O’Keefe, Roxana Ramirez Idona, and Charito Ramirez. He was also the proud and adored grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy, pride, and purpose to his life.
A man of many talents and passions, Luis lived life with energy and curiosity. He loved to dance, stayed active by working out daily, and never missed the opportunity to enjoy his favorite desserts. He was also an accomplished writer, entrepreneur, and creative spirit. Luis served as the editor of The Peruvian Magazine Boletín de Nuevo York, authored the book Creación Evolutiva o Evolución Creativa?, and composed three songs: Tu Ausencia, Sigo Siendo Niño, and Mi Barrio Pueblo Libre. Through his writing and music, he proudly celebrated the love for his mother, wife and hometown.
Above all else, Luis cherished his family. They were his greatest joy and the center of his world. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication that will live on through the many lives he touched.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Prayer service at 6:30 PM.
Luis will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
