Paul Warren Merzbacher

At the tender age of 21, Paul married the love of his life, Joanne. Together they shared 50 amazing years of love, happiness, and pure joy even through the hardest times. Paul worked as a groundskeeper for a golf course on Long Island before realizing the potential he held as an entrepreneur. He began his own irrigation company in Port Jefferson Station, NY which is still in operationtoday under the direction of his sons. Paul and Joanne retired to South Florida after Paul suffered a stroke.

A truly amazing man, he loved his family above all else and taught them the importance of forgiveness, caring for others, and to never go to bed angry. His character was one that all should strive to be like. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with him. Paul's favorite pastimes were football and baseball, especially if the Yankees were playing. He also loved to spend time playing blackjack at the casinos.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne Merzbacher

Children: Walter (Terri) Merzbacher, David (Katherine) Merzbacher, and Beth (Richard) Laggan

Grandchildren: Alexandria, Paul, Cassidy, Samantha, Matthew, Sabrina, Sophia, and Angelina

and a sister: Lilly Johnson

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Grace Rabell and Walter Osbourne.

Visiting hours 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 4839 Nesconset Hwy. (Rt. 347) in Port Jefferson Station, NY A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at O.B. Davis Funeral Home. Paul will be laid to rest at Nassau Knolls Memorial Park, Port Washington, N.Y. following the service.
