It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia C. Rosalia, who left this world on March 3, 2025, at the age of 76. A longtime resident of Port Jefferson Station, NY, Virginia was born in Queens, NY, on April 21, 1948.
Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Frank Rosalia, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Teresa Rosalia Barone and Anthony Rosalia (Colleen), and the cherished grandmother of Paul Barone, Anna Rosalia, and Sophia Rosalia. Family was the heart of Virginia’s life, and she loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Virginia had a special gift for making friends wherever she went. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness boundless, and her thoughtfulness knew no limits. She was an incredible cook, known especially for her famous sauce and meatballs, which simmered on the stove all day in preparation for treasured Sunday dinners with her family.
She delighted in family traditions, particularly the celebration of "Little Christmas," a special gathering with her immediate family before the grand Christmas Eve festivities. However, her most beloved tradition was "Fall Festival Day," when she and her grandchildren would venture out East to pick pumpkins, carve them together, and enjoy dinner and a homemade apple pie as a family—memories that will be forever cherished.
Virginia’s warmth, love, and unwavering devotion to family and friends will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10 AM at Infant Jesus R.C. Church, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Port Jefferson, NY 11777. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY 11933.
In honor of Virginia’s memory, may we continue to share laughter, kindness, and the joy of family traditions, just as she so beautifully did throughout her life.
