It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Raso, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 77. William, a long-time resident of Ridge, New York, was born and raised in Queens, NY, where he began a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to family.
William’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Joanne for 55 years, with whom he built a beautiful life together. Their partnership was a testament to love and commitment. He was a proud father to Jennifer (Michael) and Jaclyn (Ken) and a doting grandfather to Kyle, Joanna, Marina, and Jake. William cherished every moment with his grandchildren, especially watching them compete in the sports they loved. His support, encouragement, and presence were constant, and his love for them knew no bounds.
A man of many talents, William had a special gift for renovating homes, breathing new life into houses that needed a little TLC. His eye for detail and passion for transformation made him a master of his craft. In addition to his work in home renovation, William was also involved in the nightlife industry, co-owning nightclubs with his brother, and creating vibrant spaces where memories were made.
For over 20 years, William and his family made cherished memories in St. Martin, a place he loved and visited often. Whether relaxing on the beach or enjoying the beauty of the island, St. Martin held a special place in his heart.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, William had a lifelong love for hobbies that allowed his creativity to shine. He was an avid model train enthusiast, building intricate layouts that captured the wonder of miniature worlds. He also found joy in restoring classic cars, particularly Corvettes and Jaguars, bringing them back to life with his skilled hands.
William is survived by his loving wife Joanne; his children Jennifer (Michael) and Jaclyn (Ken); his grandchildren Kyle, Joanna, Marina, and Jake; his siblings Michael (Nance) and Jeffery (Gerri); and his brother-in-law AJ. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Anna; his sisters, Mary and Sandra; and his brother-in-law Fred.
Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, on December 11, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
William’s legacy of love, family, and dedication to those he cared for will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
