Araceli Meza De Gottschalt

Araceli Meza De Gottschalt also known as “Hermana Meza”, 80 of Port Lavaca passed away October 1, 2012. She was born March 7, 1932 in La Hacienda Del Porvenir, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Romulo Meza and Carmen Rodriguez. Araceli was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a Missionary for 20 years to her beloved state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Eloisa Paez; brothers, Tomas Mesa, Juan Meza and Guadalupe Meza.

She is survived by her daughters, Lidia Cantu, Elizabeth Wardlow, Daria Gutierrez, L. Adela Gutierrez and Blanca Flores; one son, Saul Gottschalt; 19 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Arturo Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow at the Port Lavaca Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Juan Cantu, Pablo Cantu, Jr., Cash Wardlow, Frank Wardlow, Christian Rodriguez, Daniel Cantu, Anthony Vasquez and Jorge Flores, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be all grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandchildren and The Mission Friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the Women’s Missionary Union at Central Baptist Church, 1900 W. Main, Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
