

Arcadio M. Padron, Jr., 87 of Port Lavaca passed away September 2, 2011. He was born August 23, 1924 in Kenedy, TX to the late Arcadio B. and Maria Mireles Padron. Arcadio was retired from ALCOA and was a member of Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church. He was also a 4th Degree in Knights of Columbus, member of the United Citizens League, ALCOA 25 year Club, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Padron proudly served his country in the United States Army During WWII, where he was a Private at 361st Base Unit in Germany.
He is survived by his daughters, Maria Elena Garza (Alejos) and Carmelita Guerra (Paul); sons, Greg Padron (Yolanda), Joe Padron (Rosie) and David Padron (Rose); sisters, Maria P. Albiar (Albino), Patsy Casarez (Ray), Emelda Cantu, Alice Hernandez and Janie Padron; brother, Joe Cantu (Maria); 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arcadio was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Arenas Padron; sister, Adele De La Torre and brother David M. Padron.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, September 5, 2011 with a Rosary to begin at 7 pm at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Calhoun County Veterans Joint Honor Guard will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Guerra, Alex Garza, Jr., Brandon Padron, Jose Arcadio Padron, Jr., John-Gregory Padron and Evan Padron. Honorary Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Marcus Anthony Tagle, Alex Ryan Garza, Jacob Voelkel, Christian Morales, Zayden Stewart and Darren Saenz.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of The Gulf School and Daycare.
