Braulio Rios Morales

Braulio Rios Morales of Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2018. He was born on March 26, 1930 to Amado and Julia Rios Morales. He is remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and for his love of the outdoors tending to his garden.

Mr. Morales was a man of many talents. He started as a chef at the original Shellfish restaurant until he became a diesel mechanic and found his true passion. He later retired from this field, but became restless and returned to work until the age of 80.

Braulio was also an accomplished musician who played the accordion for several decades. He enjoyed entertaining at family gatherings by performing with his brothers and sisters who also shared the same passion for music.

He is survived by his daughters, Esmeralda Acosta (Rey), Anni Ramos, Elisa Morales; sons, Jose Morales, Braulio Morales Jr. (Mary Jane), Jaime Morales (Veronica); companion, Mary Escalante; sister, Matilde Bravo; brothers, Cristobal Morales, Eugenio Morales; grandchildren, Adamiley Luna, Christian Morales, Matthew Morales, Cori Perez, Joshua Castellanos, Jacob Harper, Haley Acosta, Ariel Castellanos, Karlie Acosta, Gabby Morales and great-grandchildren, Maddox Saucillo, Valencia Harper, D.J. Harper and Toddie Morales.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Estela Amejorado Morales; parents; sisters, Carmen Salinas, Bernarda Morales, Maria Sista Mendez and brothers, Cenon Morales, Isidoro Morales and Enrique Morales.

Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Christian Morales, Matthew Morales, Joshua Castellanos, Jacob Harper, Nick Escalante and Isador Morales III.

Honorary Pallbearers are his granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
