Celia M. Munoz

Our beloved Celia Martinez Munoz, 93, of Port Lavaca was called to join her heavenly family on Saturday, December 9, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1930 in Mathis, TX to Gregorio and Juanita Martinez. Celia was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.

Many knew Celia as “Momo, “Tia” or “Sal.” Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and cleaning. She also enjoyed caring for all the little ones as her own.

She is survived by her son, Gilbert Munoz (Erma); sister, Erlinda Aguilar (Abel); grandchildren, Melissa Haney (Brian), Michael Munoz (Brenda) and Chris Munoz (Maribel); great-grandchildren, Steven Menchaca (Hannah), Brittany Dworaczyk, Jordan Dworaczyk II and Michael Andrew Munoz; and one great-great-grandchild, Jesse Menchaca and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Epifanio G. Munoz; daughter, Odelia Gonzalez; brothers, Gregorio Martinez, Jr., Luis Martinez and Jose Martinez.

Rosary will begin at 9:30am followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Port Lavaca, TX on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Burial will be at her final resting place, Greenlawn Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Steven Menchaca, Jordan Dworaczyk II, Michael Munoz, Chris Munoz, Abel Aguilar, Jr. and Eloy Hernandez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brittany Dworaczyk, Hannah Menchaca, Jesse Menchaca, Cindy Hernandez, Laura Hart and Michael Andrew Munoz.
