We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Evelyn Kasper on October 30, 2025. Evelyn was surrounded by her loving family in Richmond, Texas when the Lord called her home. A woman of deep faith, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Kasper, who passed away on September 24, 2007; as well as her parents, Jerry and Henrietta Darilek; and sister, Louise Janecka.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Brenda (John) Gillespie, Monica (Billy) Wilson, Sheila (Chris) Fucik, Sandra (Mike) Pollard and son, Ronnie Kasper. She is survived by grandchildren Heather Wilson, Michael Gillespie, Jessica Gillespie Grandits, Stephanie Gillespie Bradford, Brittany Fucik Heinchon, Matthew Fucik, Amber Pollard, Brandon Pollard, and Andrew Pollard; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Charlotte, Kinley, Ava, Emma, Brooklyn, Hudson, and Nora; and her five siblings.
Evelyn was born in Shiner, Texas on August 11, 1941. She married the love of her life, Jerry, on January 24, 1958. Evelyn and Jerry made their home in Port Lavaca where they raised their five children and enjoyed life.
Evelyn devoted her life to caring for her family. Her and Jerry created many special memories for their children and grandchildren, hosting barbeques, fish frys, with holidays always being a big party. Annual family gatherings camping in New Braunfels shaped a tradition that is carried on in her children. No matter the location, as long as family was there the love, she shared was very evident.
Evelyn moved from her hometown of Port Lavaca to Needville in 2014 to be closer to family. She cherished these last few years attending her grandchildren’s events and being close to her children. Nothing surprised us about her outgoing and adventurous spirit – She can even be spotted at a couple of the Galveston Mardi Gras weekends and had the trip of her dreams to the Holy Land with her best friend and sister-in-law, Mary.
Her Catholic faith was central to her. We take comfort in knowing Evelyn is at peace, reunited with Jerry, and dancing once again with the love of her life in Heaven.
