Felipe Fonseca Jr., age 66 passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 12-1PM at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 1PM. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Piper-Rose Garza, Jaime Gonzales, Juan Baldera, Jr., Raymond Velez, Jr., Rudy Garza, Sebastian Garza, Guillermo Fonseca and Timothy Gonzales.
Felipe was born October 8, 1956 in Alice, Texas to the late Agueda Moya Fonseca and Felipe P. Fonseca, Sr. After high school, he became a paramedic and worked for Victoria EMS. He also worked for Calhoun County EMS with Henry Barber and was one of the first paramedics there. After working as a paramedic for 16 years, he decided to go to nursing school. He worked at Memorial Medical Center as an ICU nurse for 18 years. He enjoyed photography and technology. He loved to cook and grill and watch football too. He was a loyal and avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. So much so, he wore a paper bag over his head when they couldn't even win coin toss. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Felipe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Stephanie Fonseca; daughter, Maria Griffith; sons, Felipe Fonseca III (Gayle) and Arturo Nicholas Fonseca (Melissa); sister, Martha Baldera; brother, Guillermo Fonseca (Martha Patricia); grandchildren, Ezri Fonseca, Felipe Fonseca IV, Sebastian Garza and Piper-Rose Garza; and many nieces and nephews.
Felipe was preceded in death by his father, Felipe P. Fonseca, Sr.; mother, Agueda Moya Fonseca; brother, Arturo Fonseca, Sr.; sisters, Mary F. Velez and Araceli Velasquez; brother-in-law, Juan Baldera; niece, Rachel Baldera; and nephew, Arturo Fonseca, Jr.
