Henry Lee “Popo” Hayes, 65, of Port Lavaca passed away October 6, 2020. He was born September 9, 1955 in Port Lavaca. Henry was the President and Owner of Hayes Electric.

He is survived by his daughters, Andrea D. Hayes Betancourt (Nicholas Goering) and Lauren Knowles (William); step - sister, Shirley Swaim (Bill); step-brother, James May; “Best” Mother in law; Andrea Maseda Escobedo; Brother in law; Manuel Escobedo Jr.; grandchildren, Chloe Ellison, Clayton Goering, Drew Goering, Jacob Betancourt, and William Ezra Knowles; nieces, Misty Smith-Garcia (David) and Mandy Smith-Barnes; and nephew, Tyler May (Brandi).

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, J.V. and Zanabel Hayes.

Friends can pay their respects and sign the book on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Port Lavaca Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Nicholas Goering, William Knowles, Manuel Escobedo Jr., Brent Anderson, David Garcia, and Austin Escobedo.

Honorary Pallbearers are Robert “Raco” Maseda, Lalo Ortiz and employees of Hayes Electric.
