

Lillie “Sweetheart” Chumchal Baros, 86, of Port Lavaca passed from this earth into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on March 18, 2012. She was born in Shiner, TX to the late Rudolph and Carrie Chumchal on May 10, 1925. She married Loddy Nick Baros in 1944.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick; son, Ronnie; grandson, Brandon May; sisters, Carrie, Frances, Julia; and brothers, Rudy, Emil and Eddie. She will be joining those who have been waiting for her.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, American Business Women’s Association, VFW Auxiliary Post #4403, and the LVN Association. She was elected woman of the year by the ABWA. She was a nurse employed at Champ Traylor Memorial for many years and then she worked for the Port Lavaca Clinic. Later she became a school nurse for the Calhoun County ISD. She enjoyed singing karaoke, baking at Christmas, playing cards and dominoes, playing volleyball, dancing, watching hummingbirds, and going to the beach.
Left behind to cherish her beautiful memories are her daughter, Patsy May Kendrick of Victoria; grandson, Shane May and wife, Britney of Victoria; granddaughter, Rhonda Randolph and husband, David of Sugarland; and granddaughter-in-law, Devan Orsak of Palacios; great-grandchildren, Holly, Tyler, Austin, Shelby, Nickalus, Aarin, Ben, Garrett, Ellie and caretaker and long time friend, Tammie Mahan. She is also survived by many, true, caring, loving friends; goddaughters, Debbie Knobles and Anna McCamy and loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be remembered for her loving and caring ways and her contagious and bubbly smile. She had a big heart – always ready to help and listen. She will be missed by many.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. and a rosary will be from 7-8 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 21st. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22nd at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Chumchal, Gene Chumchal, Tim Janowski, Darrell Haith, Mike Machicek and Shane May.
Honorary Pallbearers are James Woods, Earl Hilscher, Sam Sensabaugh, Jack Haith, Danny May, Glendon Hill, Dennis Hlavaty, Tyler and Austin May and VFW Post 4403 Members.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
