My first memory of Lou Ann was in grade school.  All of us girls has our little bag of Jax.   At recess we would play Jax.  
LouAnn and I were in the same class and we often played Jax together  .  She was even a sweetheart when we were little kids. After high school she moved to Austin Tx. As fate would have it, I was shopping at Barten Creek Mall and there she was working in the mall. We had a wonderful visit.  She became a wonderful woman.  As life goes it was some time before our paths would cross again. Once again we both moved back to Port Lavaca.  Always thinking how nice to see her doing well. She lived through some tough times and still always held a smile and love in her heart. Overcame every obstacles and came out a beautiful woman inside and out.  

I met LouAnn the first time long time ago when I was 12 years old and went to spend the summer with her family, then 48 years later I got the privilege to see her again. LouAnn and her family have been in my thoughts all these years. 

My heart goes out to all the family!! I didn’t know that she was that sick! Ever since I found out, I feel numb!
I met Lou Ann when she moved down the street with her adorable little girls. We went from saying Hi, to being friends,
To being activists together. We spent lots of time on the phone talking about many things and planning strategies, Trips and meetings .
Lou Ann, Alan and the girls would come over for game nights and, of course, there was always laughter, especially hers!
Even though our paths hadn’t touched much in recent years, she was the same, no matter how long it had been since we’d seen each other!!
I’m so sorry that I wasn’t able to tell her, Bye,  or I Love You, for the last time! She was truly a wonder in the best sense of the word!!!

I only had the pleasure of meeting Aunt LuLu once at Keith and Max’s wedding, but boy was I drawn to her honest spirit and her laugh. She spoke right up when she saw my 1 year old getting too many kisses and hugs from his best friends, the Dubicki kids. While all they wanted to do was play, and I was too shy to ask for space, she demanded that they “go play elsewhere for 10 minutes and let that baby wake up from his nap!” I gave her a little hug and she gave me a wink and that was that. She will surely be missed. May she rest peacefully.

Fond memories and laughter with Lou Ann during our high school years. So sad to hear of her passing.  Allen and Lorraine you have my deepest sympathy and prayers. May God be by your sides at this time.

Always enjoyed visiting with Lou Ann. A special angel watching over all of you !

Lou Ann and I went to school together and were friends just like in any small town.   We  had classes together and she always quick with a smile and a laugh.  She was the prettiest girl in school, no doubt, but you would never know it by the way she cut up with everyone.   She and Gwen Record made the powder puff football games very memorable.   I never met a sweeter lady or a kinder soul.   I got to see her at our 40th class reunion .  She remembered me and still had that wonderful smile.    I hope reading these memories will give her family a great remembrance knowing she was admired and loved by so many people.
