

Omega “Midge” Smith, 84, of Port Lavaca passed away February 12, 2010. She was born January 7, 1926 in Idabel, OK to the late William M and Mary Elizabeth Smith Lovewell. She worked in Sales at Perry Brothers, Cole’s Department Store and Wal-Mart. She was a member of Alamo Heights Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughters, Beulah Muschalek of Victoria, Marilyn Henry of Callahan, FL, Linda Tapley and husband, Sherman of Edna; sons, James D. “Jim” Smith, Jr and wife, Jeannie of Victoria, Royce E. “Doodle” Smith and wife, Susan McCormick of Port Lavaca; sisters, Josephine Horton of Hunt, Peggy Kensing and Sue Locke of San Antonio; brother, William Lovewell of OR; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Smith, Sr.; parents; daughter, Judith Kelley; sister, Billie Kensing and grandson, Hayden Vick.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 5-7 P.M. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 1 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Dwayne Wise officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Duane R. Smith, Garlan Vick, Marlon Vick, Jack B Glover III, Jaymes Smith, Sherman “Blue” Tapley, Jr., Charles Ybarra, Jason Hastings, Clinton Kelley and Blaine Kelley.
Memorial donations may be made to Alamo Heights Building Fund.
