Roy Phillip Simon, 84 of Middleburg, Florida passed away May 31, 2014. He was born February 17, 1930 in Ensley, Alabama to the late Elmer E. Simon and Zora Elizabeth Sprouse Justice. Mr. Simon served his country in the United States Army and was also past President of The United Steel Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife Grace Adams Simon of Middleburg, Florida; daughters, Jane Rochelle Ramirez and husband John of Jacksonville, Florida, Barbara Anne Pursell of Orlando, Florida, Brenda Michelle Simon of St. Petersburg, Florida; son, Robert Irvin Simon of Oceanway, Florida; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mr. Simon was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Gresham officiating. Burial will follow at the Port Lavaca Cemetery.
